Terms of Service
Last updated: May 22, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of HookJolt (the “Service”). HookJolt is operated by Morteza Ebrahimi, a sole proprietor based in Ontario, Canada (“HookJolt”, “we”, “us”, “our”). HookJolt is a trade name registered in Ontario by Morteza Ebrahimi.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use HookJolt. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Accounts
You sign in via Firebase Authentication using a third-party identity provider (Google, email/password). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. The Service
HookJolt generates short-form video hook variations using AI models. Outputs are generated on demand from your inputs (topic, niche, format) and are intended as creative assistance, not as factual, legal, financial, medical, or professional advice.
3.1 AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
- AI outputs may be inaccurate, repetitive, or unsuitable for your use case.
- Statistical claims, study citations, dollar figures, or named entities in generated hooks are illustrative and should be verified before publishing.
- You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and fact-checking any output before using it publicly.
3.2 Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Generate content that promotes violence, hatred, illegal activity, or the sexual exploitation of minors.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent the source of generated content.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or otherwise extract our prompts, training data, or system behavior.
- Resell, redistribute, or proxy access to the Service.
- Exceed reasonable usage limits, automate requests at scale, or circumvent rate limits.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, without refund.
4. Credits and Payments
HookJolt operates on a pay-per-use credit model.
- New accounts receive complimentary starter credits at our discretion. These credits may be revoked or modified for any account at any time.
- Paid credits are purchased through Stripe and are non-transferable.
- Credits do not expire under current terms, but we reserve the right to introduce expiration with at least 30 days' notice.
- One generation request consumes one credit, regardless of the number of hooks returned.
- Failed generations (server error, no usable output) are automatically refunded the consumed credit.
4.1 Refunds
We offer refunds on unused credits within 30 days of purchase, on request, no questions asked. Email [email protected] from the account email address. Refunds for used credits are at our discretion and typically granted only where the Service materially failed.
4.2 Pricing Changes
We may change pricing at any time. Changes apply to future purchases only; credits already in your balance retain their original purchasing power.
5. Intellectual Property
5.1 Your Content
You retain all rights to the topics, niches, formats, and any other inputs you provide (“Inputs”). By submitting Inputs, you grant HookJolt a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process them solely to provide the Service to you.
5.2 Generated Outputs
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you own the hook variations generated for you (“Outputs”) and may use them for any lawful purpose, including commercial use, without attribution to HookJolt.
Note: AI-generated content may not be copyrightable in all jurisdictions. HookJolt makes no warranty that Outputs are eligible for copyright protection or are free from similarity to outputs generated for other users.
5.3 Our Platform
HookJolt's underlying software, design, prompts, pattern library, brand, and all other Service elements remain our exclusive property. Nothing in these Terms grants you any license to our platform beyond the right to use the Service.
6. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on:
- Google Cloud Platform (hosting, database)
- Firebase Authentication (sign-in)
- Vertex AI / Gemini (AI generation — enterprise tier, not used for model training per Google's terms)
- Stripe (payments — your payment details are handled directly by Stripe and never touch our servers)
By using HookJolt you also agree to the applicable terms of those providers. Service availability depends on their availability.
7. Service Availability and Modifications
We provide the Service “as is” and do not guarantee uptime, accuracy, or continuous availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. For material changes affecting paid users, we will provide reasonable notice via email or in-product banner.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) CAD $100 or (b) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, or business interruption — even if advised of the possibility.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those cases the limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold HookJolt harmless from any claim, damages, or expenses arising from (a) your use of the Service, (b) your Inputs or Outputs, (c) your violation of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any third party's rights.
10. Termination
You may delete your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms or for any reason with reasonable notice. On termination, your right to use the Service ends, but Sections 5.3, 8, 9, and 11 survive.
Refunds on termination: if we terminate your account without cause, we will refund unused credits. If we terminate for violation of these Terms, unused credits are forfeited.
11. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Ontario.
If you are an EU consumer, mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence still apply where they provide stronger protections than the above.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or in-product notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
